Morning Poem

Winter’s
here. Ice
drapes the eaves,
splits dawn
into pale pink
diamonds
spilled across
the windowsill.
Squirrels
stutter across
new snow, leave
complicated tracks.
Oh, why have you
left me so
cold and alone?

Yes, it's bloody freezing.

The urge to hibernate gets stronger daily. Still, it's worth getting out of bed just to read your words!

Beautiful imagery - especially to those of us baking our brains out in the heat.
